In 1993 Trek USA were setting up Trek Australia as a separate company with involvement with Clarence St Cyclery.Part of the requirements from Trek Australia was  to have certified repair staff to cover Australia and south east Asia. Off to the States Geoff went and spent time in the trek factory in Waterloo Winsconsin  where every step of the carbon frame production was covered as well as the overall production processes. Access to the steel production facilities of frames and also alloy rims was open and much time was spent in their design unit where lifelong connections were made with US designers and influencing design concepts into the future. The certification to repair Trek products saw many a BB shell being cut out of damaged frames and returned to the US for analysis.
